It seems many people ignored this movie as a Happy Feet / March of the Penguins cash-in, but it honestly is a unique animated movie. Instead of following the typical animation formula, Surf's Up is half adventure film and half faux documentary about to-be-legendary penguin surfer Cody Maverick – and 100% essential feel-good material. No matter how pissed off you might be, these tides will wash your worries away.

Here is the debut trailer of the film. I remember the first time I saw this clip; I had not heard about Surfs' Up before, so when I was browsing trailers online I had no idea what I was about to see. When the cave painting was shown, I was like 'heh, that looks like a penguin'. By the third historical image I was rubbing my eyes; they were penguins! And by the end of the trailer I was sold.
