And now, something completely different. Everyone here must know by now I'm a penguin fan. Some of you may also know I'm a serious soundtrack collector. What you don't necessarily know is that I seriously like David Hasselhoff, both as an actor and as a singer. For me The Hoff was the coolest guy of the 80s with the coolest car ever. Heck, while some think it began with my introduction to heavy metal, it's "Knight Rider" you'll have to blame for me wearing black.

All this brings us to Pingu Hits, a half-soundtrack, half-compilation album released in 1993... and only in Switzerland. Penguins, soundtracks and the Hoff combined, oh my! The definite highlight of the album is, naturally, Pingu Dance, an extended version of one of the themes of the show sung by none other than David Hasselhoff himself. The original music video has survived only on YouTube;

This album was darn hard to come by. It took me over an year of searching, until very recently I discovered it on Swiss eBay – many great thanks for swisshero3000 for selling this treasure!
