The Merkos penguin of 2009 gets the honor of being the first Weekly Penguin of 2010. Last years 'model' is quite similar to the 2008 ones, only with large, more cartoony eyes.

If you are new to Weekly Penguin feature, by Merkos penguin I refer to yearly tradition of big Finnish market chain releasing new kind of plush penguin just in time for Christmas. In addition to this fellow, we've featured four others; Friend, the boss, long-johns and the 2008 plush duo. Let's hope this tradition continues this year – there's always room for more plush penguins!
