This is a very fitting promo leaflet for a Finnish hospital specialized in treating rheumatism. The subject of the leaflet is cryogenic chamber therapy, a treatment that basically puts the patient in a swimming suit into a chamber cooled down to -110 °C (-166 °F) with liquid nitrogen. Therapy triggers the release of endorphines which induce analgesia, thus making it an effective treatment for rheumatism.
What would be a better mannequin for such treatment than the only creature that could actually survive such conditions – yes, the Emperor penguins!
And no, I haven't undergone such treatment, yet. I'd love to, just to feel for a fleeting moment what it actually feels like to hang around in -100 °C, which pretty close to the Antarctic winter temperature. Sadly, I just yesterday learned the hospital has gone into bankruptcy, so it is uncertain at this point can I get such treatment in the future without turning into a millionaire overnight.
