Time for another children's book, this time it's a whimsical detective story The Mysterious Cases of Mr. Pin, written by Mary Elise Monsell and illustrated by Eileen Christelow. The story is about a Rockhopper private eye Mr. Pin – fresh out of South Pole – and his new young sidekick Maggie trying to save Smiling Sally's Diner from extortion.
Despite of having a plot and Chicago setting almost fit for The Untouchables, it's actually a lighthearted and kid friendly story starring a chocolate-loving penguin detective. There are four Mr. Pin stories in total, from which this is the first.
