Weekly Penguin

Weekly Penguin 245

Now this is something that wasn't in the schedule, on the very contrary; I just discovered and bought it yesterday! Since I was right that time about to ready the Weekly Penguin, I decided why, I have it freshly in my mind right now.

The item in question is a children's pop-up book 10 Pikku Pingviiniä (translates to 10 Little Penguins, originally titled 10 Petits pingouins), written by Jean-Luc Fromental and illustrated Joëlle Jolivet. It's essentially a tool to teach how to count to ten; the story follows a group of 10 penguins stuck at the North Pole and how, through various circumstances, they disappear one by one.

What's funny about is that at first it seems like thriller, almost like a penguin version of Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None. Rest assured, this isn't the case and in the end the book is kid-friendly, which led me to believe that perhaps it was my overactive, psychotic imagination all along.
