Weekly Penguin

Weekly Penguin 291

This one of those totally-out-of-left-field kind of Weekly Penguins. So this is AquaMagic by Japanese toy company Agatsuma. It is basically a play-mat-of-sorts for young children, except you can draw on it. Only you draw using a special pen that uses water instead of any sort of ink, reducing the potential mess. And it does indeed feature penguins; the educational markings listing the numbers have animal imagery, and number 4 has four penguins illustrating what '4' actually means.

Why do I have this? That's an amusing story as well. When Mindwarrior Games store was shut down early this year, they were giving away some of the more random junk for free. This was one such item that caught the eyes of Timo and Heini Liimatta, as they grabbed a couple to give away to friends with kids. As they were getting on their way, they noticed the Number 4; Penguins! Better get Jouni one, too, then! It seems my infamous penguin spotting skills are infectious.

And in case you were wondering; yes, this was indeed a hasty back-up entry. My original plan was to feature Happy Feet Two: The Video Game, as I intended to play that this past weekend. But then the disc drive of my Xbox (fifth one, mind you) went kaput and I really couldn't do that. I don't know which pisses me off more, not getting into Happy Feet Two on schedule or preventing me from finishing Metal Gear Rising 😟
