Weekly Penguin

Weekly Penguin 293

Finally, Happy Feet Two: The Video Game. So, what is it about? It's a bizarre half-way between a minigame collection, rhythm game and a platformer. Surprisingly the game isn't half bad, combining rhythm dance segments with super-simplistic platforming in a fresh way. Honestly, this isn't Chronicles of Riddick levels of movie tie-in greatness, but it definitely is above the average of licensed garbage (for what that's worth). I have no idea what the first Happy Feet game was like so I can't compare it to this one.

The bottom line; It's pretty gorgeous, stars cute penguins and features pretty darn catchy, high-quality soundtrack. The biggest downside is the general lack of variety in gameplay, making the game feel repetitive, but when played in short bursts this might be worth the bargain bin price tag. There is a demo available on Xbox Live at least, so you can always try before you buy.

And obviously the game more-or-less follows the story of the movie, so if you haven't seen it yet, please do before playing the game.
