More penguin books for kids, this time it's Finnish Hilma ja Pingviini ("Hilma and the Penguin")written by Timo Parvela, illustrated by Markus Majaluoma and published by Sanoma Magazines. The books tells of a reckless girl named Hilma, who has trouble with manners. But to everyone's fortune, Hilma's best friend is Penguin, who is a proper savant when it comes to manners and etiquette. So when Penguin takes Hilma for a walk around the neighbourhood, an adventure of manners occurs.
This is actually the first part to a series of books that apparently are pretty popular. However, the catch is that between the several year gap between the first two releases, not only did they switch publishers and illustrator, but for some ungodly reason they decided to go with a dog instead of the awesome penguin in the sequels. As everyone who knows me might already know, that's pretty much the definition of blasphemy in my personal dictionary. But that doesn't make the only 'Hilma ja Pingviini' book any less good, mind you.
