One more penguin book before we (hopefully, flippers crossed) get back to the cute world of penguin figurines and plushies. And this one is a winner; Flipping Brilliant: A Penguin's Guide to a Happy Life. It's essentially a photography book by an award-winning nature photographer Jonathan Chester, spliced together with motivation-boosting narration by Patrick Regan. The official tagline is spot on for once; "Think March of the Penguins meets Life's Little Instruction Book by way of National Geographic".
The idea of the book is simple; more you study penguins, more you realize how similar we actually are and that we could learn a thing or two from these fun creatures. It's not a self-help book nor a ham-fisted life-guide, mind you, but an insightful book about penguins – just one after which you might look your own life in a bit different light. It didn't change my world views, but then again, I already knew the penguins are the answer to everything!
