Weekly Penguin

Weekly Penguin 377

April 20th, 2019

Sadly, the website for the webcomic is no longer active 😥 – which is a real shame, it was excellent.

Here's a new venue to Weekly Penguins, web comics. When it comes to this feature, we have two rules; it has to be about penguins and I have to own the item or a legitimate copy of it, thus leaving web comics out. While this rule still stands, there's a special reason for this week's spot – read on to find it out!

The comic in question is Philip Pan's Waddle Pond. It centres around Walter, an anthropomorphic penguin kid and the first episode "Welcome Walter" is about his first day in a new school. It's a situation familiar to us all and Waddle Pond tells the story well, only with penguins. All those aspects that felt so life-changing way-back-when are portrayed in a tongue-in-cheek manner and the hand-drawn penguin art is minimalistic yet delighfull. The first episode is out now and hopefully there are plenty more to come.

As for why Waddle Pond is a Weekly Penguin despite being a web comic, well, take a look at this gorgeous thing;

Philip Pan's Waddle meets TAGAP

Walter and Cat of Waddle Pond, meet TAGAP 3's penguins from Pluto! This all started when Mr. Pan was running a mini-Kickstarter measuring the interest for future episodes of Waddle Pond, to which I contributed. We started chatting, one thing lead to another and here's one grand penguin crossover. This being specifically TAGAP 3 artwork, the wallpaper version is available in all the usual formats and sizes.

Huge thanks to Philip Pan for this custom artwork! We love it!
