We take break from our regular Weekly Penguin programming as I really want to highlight something that is close to my heart; penguin plushies on Kickstarter! This project from ESC Toy – the folks behind the recent Hotline Miami collectibles – is currently in progress and could really use some help. I usually only feature penguins already in my collection, but obviously that can't happen if the project doesn't succeed.

Neither Penguin DT or TAGAP brand have anything to do with this project besides of me being a fan, but I can forgive you if you think otherwise. See, this is not just a plush penguin Kickstarter, but one based on characters from a 2D indie game, Starbound from Chucklefish. Not only that, but the penguins come complete with accessories, including plush machine guns. Plus most reward tiers also come with the game and its catchy soundtrack!

Oh, and did I mention that one of the Kickstarter Exclusive penguins happens to be green? Yes, a green plush penguin with a machine gun!

As if that wasn't enough, stretch goals for the project include in-game vehicles for the penguins to operate, including an adorable penguin mecha!

Like I mentioned, the campaign could use some help; I know penguin collectibles are a niche you yourself don't necessarily belong to, but spreading the word always helps. You never know, the guy next to you might be a super-extreme penguin collector!
