Weekly Penguin 698

Returning to our almost-annual feel-good vibes for kickstarting the new year; penguin adoptions! Here is the trio adopted last Christmas – Robert, Mick and Andrew. Yes, I ran out of penguin-themed name trios, so I decided to go with something else this time. It is something I will remember the year 2020 most for 😉

If you don't know what these adoptions are, here's the gist. SANCCOB – short for The Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds – is a long-standing bird rescue foundation originating from South Africa. Like the title suggests, they save coastal birds. And South Africa being the home for the one and only African Penguin, saving these adorable waddlers is what they are best known for.

SANCCOB runs mainly on volunteer work and donations – and one part of the latter is the symbolic adoption of penguins or even eggs. All funds are put into saving more penguins, so you know they'll go into good use.

You, too, can adopt a penguin! Just head to: https://sanccob.co.za/adopt-a-penguin/
