After a detour to the next TAGAP tease last week, let's continue with the 'Valiojäätelö' ice cream penguins that are part of my daily sights at my home, to the point I've forgotten to feature them.
So this one is an outdoor sign from the Valio's old ice cream kiosks. This would be mounted on the ground, but I don't have the mount, just the penguin sign.
Some background for this. Originally this brand was owned by Finland's biggest dairy firm Valio – thus Valiojäätelö, 'Valio ice cream'. When Nestlé acquired Valio's ice cream output and brands, 'Valio' was dropped from the name and these were named simply Pingviini ('penguin'). This meant all the old signs and promo material needed to change... and guess twice which Finnish penguin bozo lurked about auction sites waiting to grab some of them!
The auctioneer didn't want to sell these individually... so now I have three meter tall plastic penguin signs. Yeah, three of them. 😅
