So I thought I had become a GoGo Penguin CD Completionist. Well joke's on me, I just discovered that there ARE more CD releases from the band – they're just exclusive to Japan. So penguin nerd does what the penguin nerd must.
The first one is actually the latest GoGo Penguin release, From The North – Gogo Penguin Live In Manchester. The album is available as digital and vinyl – but as I do neither of those, I thought this was another one I'd have to miss. But Japan to the rescue!
The album is a Blu-spec CD2, a higher-definition format I've only seen in Japan-exclusives. It still plays on regular CD players though. The live set consists of takes from both the latest full length album Everything is Going to be OK and Between Two Waves EP. The latter of the two is a vinyl exclusive, even in Japan, so I'm happy to get some version at least.
By the way, unlike most albums I've featured recently, this isn't a photo but a cover scan, the way I used to feature the albums earlier. I'll be getting back to photographs soon - setting up a new phone takes so long I decided to fire up Photoshop before the 'Weekly Penguin Day' runs out. 😅
