Well, it wouldn't be a Disgaea feature if I didn't include its gem of a soundtrack, now would it? Even though I missed the opportunity to grab any kind of Collector's Edition for Disgaea 5, I did get my flippers on its soundtrack CD.
The score for Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance is of course composed by the series maestro Tenpei Sato. This time there's a sort brass 'n blues focus going on, in addition to more vocals – either in form of songs or choir backing.
The blues-part comes from the Overlord of Gorgeous Seraphina's themes. Her Overlord power is seduction, after all, so it fits perfectly. In fact the "Moving on", performed by Mamoru Miyano, that plays in Seraphina's pocket Netherworld (aka your main base) is bound to be an ear worm. The rest of the vocal tracks reserved for dramatic moments – from character development to important boss battles.
However, don't get me wrong, this isn't a 'character song album' and the soundtrack still mainly consists of instrumental score. As the game itself, it ranges from dramatic story beats to irresistibly funky and energetic in-game tracks. In other words, it's Disgaea.
I wholly recommend the album if you can get it from somewhere, dood.
