How about more penguin games, this time of the 'board'-variety?
This is Plucky Penguins by MWG Boardgames, Kickstarted back in 2018. The game stars Buon Appetito Gang, a tribe of penguins living in the Antarctic. Global warming is making the already-harsh life impossible, so the gang decides search for the legendary island of riches, Elfishado.
Conquering the island isn't easy; not only are the penguins competing for the Penguin Leader by catching the most fish, they'll also have to be on the lookout for the orcas as well as the hungry walrus.
The game is for 2-to-8 players. Each player chooses a penguin to play as (it isn't just cosmetic, as each has their own skill to use). And just look at these meeples!
After choosing the penguins, it is off to head for the fishing holes around the island. But on each turn, the walrus seeks for food – and both the walrus and the orcas have their own event cards to spice things up. Naturally the last penguin standing will be the victor. Or it can technically also be the walrus if it eats everybody.
As mentioned, this was Kickstarter back in 2018. The game was in 2020 and sadly it seems both the game and the team behind it got steam-rolled by the events of that year – I hope everyone involved is doing fine regardless.
Still, there are more related penguin artefacts to feature, perhaps in the not-too-distant future.
