Continuing from the last week's feature – Plucky Penguins board game by MWG Boardgames – is this one; The Art of Plucky Penguins. All the art in the game – and naturally in the art book – is by Chiara "Riiko" Vian.

As mentioned in the previous post, the game features character and event cards, each having their unique illustrations, so there's plenty of material for this here art book. And naturally on top of that, there are early designs and sketches from the stages of development.

The last part is both really cool – and a bit sad. See, before apparently folding, MWG Boardgames had announced an expansion for the game. And not just any expansion, but 'penguins meet Cthulhu Mythos' one! The book does feature several artworks of what-could've-been, one shown above.

I've always been a huge fan of the works of H. P. Lovercraft, especially the Mythos ones, so this would've been almost like tailor made for me. At least some of it is immortalised in this art book.
