Merry Christmas 2019! Time to resume the tradition of 'Penguin DT Bag of Christmas Goodies' – and we're doing so with a bang! Here is the gameplay reveal for TAGAP 4!

And how about an official plot synopsis?
During his adventures, the cyber-penguin Pablo has saved the world multiple times – from a world-conquering mad scientist, a megalomaniac penguin general and a whole race of space penguins from Pluto. However, an event during his previous adventure has thrown our hero out of this world. Out of this time.
What if Pablo wasn't there to save the world? What if the mad scientist Glowenko wasn't stopped in his tracks, but now rules the world with a rubber glove?
Stuck in an alternate timeline, Pablo has to find a way home while fighting the whole world gone mad.
We can't have a new trailer without taking some screen-grabs from it:
And that's far from all – we also have the trailer song by Petja Heiskanen and a full, detailed run-down of the trailer. Just head to our blog and check out the very first 'Making of TAGAP 4' development blog entry!

Happy 2nd TAGAP 3 anniversary!
Due to hectic personal schedules I haven't been able to finish the new version of TAGAP 3 for the occasion, but that doesn't mean this day will go uncelebrated. Will the first ever screenshot from TAGAP 4 suffice?
(this is actual gameplay footage)
We can't wait to showcase this bad boy in action next month! Stay tuned!
Once more, TAGAP.net has regenerated! Now clocking at the version number 6.0, the new website is completely re-programmed in HTML5 and has a responsive layout that should work a lot better for those browsing it via smartphones.
But wait, the website overhaul isn't limited to just the layout! All the desktop extra content has been remastered for modern displays. Yes, all official TAGAP wallpapers are now available from 1920×1080 to 4k, whilst even the oldest Weekly Penguin wallpapers have been re-done in 1920×1200.
And obviously TAGAP 4 now has its own space – waiting for more details!
For more information on the website overhaul and reminiscence of the version history, check out the latest blog update.
Yup, the brand new TAGAP + TAGAP 2 re-release Classic TAGAP gets its very first update, v3.1. In addition to smaller minor tune-ups, this update axes the collision bug in the first TAGAP, preventing Pablo from jump off of floors in 45 degree angles. This bizarre bug was due to the old collision detection system not being able to handle the higher framerates Classic TAGAP is capable of.
For the full list of changes, check out the release notes.
To download the update, head to Download Classic TAGAP section.
The update is available as a stand-alone installer, an update and plain ZIP files.
Didn't see that coming, did you? 😉
TAGAP + TAGAP 2 remastered, reloaded and relaunched! Go get it!
Download Classic TAGAP!
Happy TAGAP 12th Anniversary, everyone! Stay tuned, we have another celebratory thing coming in about an hour.
Classic TAGAP – the re-launch of TAGAP and TAGAP 2 – takes place on Wednesday, July 31st. But whilst we wait for that, how about some fresh screenshots from the new ports? These are genuine gameplay shots, taken from the footage recorded for the launch trailer, with hq4x upscaling enabled.
Only a couple more days to go!

Time for a special Weekly Penguin. A new TAGAP release is soon upon us and of course it needs its very own key art – so here is the cover artwork for Classic TAGAP! The Weekly Penguin entry has a detailed dive into how it was created, going through the process step-by-step.
And remember, Classic TAGAP – the re-launch of TAGAP and TAGAP 2 – happens on July 31st!

Ready for some epic TAGAP fan art? Here comes 'First TAGAP' by Poison Sleeper! The piece focuses on what the original TAGAP was about – the continuous duel between Pablo and Pedro. And revisiting the first TAGAP in higher detail is a timely topic, with the upscaled Classic TAGAP arriving next month.
The attention to detail is amazing, from the accurate props littering the battlefield to Pedro staying up via having an OneUp pill taped to his leg! To appreciate all the detail, the image is available in widescreen wallpaper formats up to 4k.
Thank you for this amazing artwork, Poison Sleeper! And remember to check out his VK page for more great art.
Surprise!
For the upcoming project Classic TAGAP, I've been going through my archives old assets. Whilst doing so I noticed that unlike all the other assets, the cover artwork both TAGAP and TAGAP 2 were done in resolutions good enough for 4k wallpapers.
In case of the first TAGAP, though the cover art was in high-res, the rest of the assets weren't, so this 2019 version is a full reproduction. TAGAP 2 one was an simple conversion job and was released earlier this month.
So here you go; have some Classic TAGAP 4k goodness!
I've been talking about this project on Twitter, but I think it is time to announce it proper.
TAGAP and TAGAP 2 are currently being remastered for x64 platforms.
Further into the past x86 platform fades, more prevalent the compatibility issues become with the old builds, so it is time to bring these games back proper. However, the project Classic TAGAP isn't just a port – the new versions will carry quite a few additions and tweaks. The games themselves remain as-is, quirks and all, but they will now also have the following;
For more information on these new versions, check out the latest blog update!
These new versions will be ready to launch on, you guessed it: TAGAP Day 2019 – July 31st!
Yay! It is April 25th, better known as the World Penguin Day!
I've been diving head-first into the murky depths of TAGAP and TAGAP 2 source codes with the aim of creating proper 64 bit modern ports. This means I haven't had the time to create a special Weekly Penguin wallpaper for this glorious day. However, I do have something different – and dare I say, more special – to share.
You could call it a teaser. I call it The Shape of Things to Come;
1920×1080 1920×1200 3840×2160 (4k)
It will make sense one day. But meanwhile;
Have an awesome World Penguin Day, everybody!

Server switch is now complete and everything should be back in working order.
On April 24th our amazing hosts at Wepardi are doing hardware maintenance and unifying their server tech. In the process, the servers for our site will be switched to another. If you encounter trouble accessing the site on Wednesday, it's part of the maintenance.
So don't worry, we are not going anywhere!
We will be back online soon after the server switch.
Long delayed, but here it is – TAGAP 3 v1.7 update!
In addition to your usual fixes and optimisations, this update is headlined by a brand new difficulty setting, coined "Challenge Overdose". This is an extra-brutal one, making enemies react faster and deal more damage. For the full list of changes, check out the full version history.
So, if you haven't played TAGAP 3 in a while and are looking for an extra challenge, hop into the downloads section and grab the new version today! As usual, the update is available as both full game download and as a smaller update – and both of those are available as an installer and a ZIP archive.
What are you waiting for? Go get some TAGAP 3!
It's Penguin Awareness Day! And here at Penguin DT we are celebrating, together with the latest penguin arrival, Pudding. Here he is partying with our grumpy old Funky Penguin and the cheeky Erik! This is also available as a wallpaper.
Pudding will get his own proper Weekly Penguin spot in the not-too-distant future. However, it must be said that Pudding comes from the UK and he has joined this penguin family thanks to the super-awesome Perry the Penguin. Huge thank you and a toast to Perry!
Have a fun Penguin Awareness Day!
Slightly delayed, but here it is!
Year 2018 was a lull year in TAGAP content and a turbulent one in my personal life. In the world of video games, however 2018 seemed to be the year of positive surprises and discoveries.
So, welcome to the seventh annual Penguin DT 'Games of the Year' showcase, where we share some of the games we love!
Congratulations to all the winners from us Finnish penguins!
After a month-long break, Penguin DT is back in action!
This means that as of today, Weekly Penguin is back in its weekly schedule! We start by introducing you to the new adopted friends of our penguins!
Those new to our site, Weekly Penguin is a feature that updates on every Tuesday, showcasing penguin artefacts from the collection of the Head Penguin Jouni. And it's not just cute and fluffy plush penguins, as they can get weird.
Additionally the development on further TAGAP 3 updates and our next project have resumed – so expect more on those in the near future! And obviously our Games of the Year blog is on the way later in the week.
